Thought you'd be glad to hear that my mom is doing much better. She is off oxygen and will get out of the hospital tomorrow. She even walked for 6 minutes. She was very excited about this because she hasn't been out of bed since last Friday.
She sounds so positive, it's amazing.

Wonderful! Go Mom!!!
YEA!!!
AWESOME!! I'm so thrilled for her. (and you too, of course) What's that book you're holding anyway? I've never seen anything like it... I don't cook - I reheat!! LOL!
She's holding what I consider to be the kitchen bible...the Better Homes and Garden cookbook. If one wants to move from reheating to cooking, it's the one cookbook I recommend.
I feel the need to clarify. I DO NOT COOK. That picture was actually taken by Beth (crazyus.com) over Thanksgiving. I pulled out all the stops: apron that my mom gave me...starched and ironed from another era, and the cookbook is from the cupboard. Don't laugh, but I think I was looking up how to cook squash or make mashed potatoes. Something like elaborate like that!
I am also a reheater, Megan, and damn proud. Tomorrow I'll post a picture of what I was doing when it really got stressful in the kitchen.
Carol I'm very glad your mom is doing better.
As for your cooking, whatever man. I bet you know how to make sauerkraut, and I'm still waiting for those cookies.

So glad to hear that she's feeling better. I'm a new reader enjoying your blog.
I have just started reading your blog, following the crazyus link. I am glad your mom is feeling better. Cancer is a scary but unpredictable disease. One of my friends was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer two years ago. She is fine now and none of the doctors know why.
My best wishes to your mom!
Hi Carol,
Thank you for stopping by my site and leaving a link to yours. Since this is my first visit it's the first I've read about your mom, so I had the fortuity to read that she is feeling better before I read what she's going through.
My aunt (who is very much like a mother to me) had a double mastectomy and fought off a very aggressive cancer about eight years ago. I truly believe it was her spirit (and the strength & love of those around her) that got her through and helped her conquer her sickness.
It sounds like your mom has spirit, strength & love on her side too. I hope to read a lot more happy posts like this in the future. =)
Take care.
I'm very glad your mom is doing better :)
