one step forward, two steps back

The step forward.  The meeting went better than expected.  The dress definitely helped.  Sounds pretty silly, but I truly think it gave me some extra confidence (far be it for me to believe in my abilities!)  My union reps were impressed with my "performance".  I think they were worried I would turn into a defensive, sniveling wimp - but I didn't!  I said a few things that I needed to say, but didn't get everything off my chest.  It wasn't the time or place.

A step back.  The district isn't backing down even though it did something unethical.

Another step back.  I found out today that someone has been lying that I trusted.

This entire process is awful.  As I told the biggest, big whig today in the meeting - I'm devastated by all of this.

Oh I SOOOO want more details than that. Good for you for sticking up for yourself and having the guts to say what you needed to say (or some of it) and looking good at the same time. I'm interested to see how things pan out for you!!

Don't be coy--what is the deal with the person you trusted lying? What did it have to do with your being fired?

I just KNEW someone was being dishonest. Good people who are good at their jobs don't just get let go...someone with an evil nature is usually behind it. And though it's not easy, that means (because I care about you) that I want YOU AWAY FROM THAT PERSON.
God that rakes my nerves.

I don't understand when people are rude and lie to put others down. Seriously get counselling, cause obviously you're pretty miserable if that is how you spend your day!
Glad you took the high road with your pretty dress.

If it didn't suck so much, I might feel sorry for the liar in your midst as they obviously have WAY more issues than you do. You seem to be a kind caring compassionate person caught up in lots of other peoples neuroses - don't let them dictate how you feel about you...Karma has a way of kicking them in the ass - be sure of that...Keep your chin up, but...next time...get the shoes too!

Hang in there. I'm new here, but have been reading a little here and there.

Things like this suck, but, as hard as it can be to see it now, it will get better. It will get over. And you will move on and find a better more positive place to be.

Sorry you can't write more (okay because I'm super curious and nosey) but also because it's such a great outlet to vent.

Good luck!!!

(And DUDE?! with the post above me. If it wasn't so stupid and hysterically- stupid, it would be offensive!!! {ahem- delete})

Oooph. That sucks. But at least you got a good dress out of the meeting and some crap off your chest.
Don't let the bastards get you down!
