two moves later

Last post here, according to my dashboard, was March 27th, 2009. We have moved twice since then. To California and then to Minnesota. Sold a house, rented a town home, lived with my dad and finally bought a house. The kids have grown. Ben is 18, Harrison is 11 and Ella is 9. Basie is still a huge part of our life and is 4 and a half. Chris and I have switched jobs a few times, but are still in the same fields - I'm a middle school counselor and Chris is still in commercial construction. In fact, we have purchased my childhood home and live in a suburb of Minneapolis.

I feel like I'm on the phone with an old friend who I haven't talked to in a long time and there is so much to say that that I don't know how or where to start...so I'll show pictures.

Carol, you look great! And the kids look just the same, only bigger.

I've wondered about how you're doing, so I'm glad to see you post here! Are you doing anything with your photography?

Welcome back. Glad to see all is well. I have thought of you off and on and was wondering what you have been up to. The kids do look the same just bigger.

Without a doubt, I remember you, Carol! Over the past couple of years I have clicked over to Black Salt and sneaked a peek at you. :) Thanks for all you wrote yesterday on my blog. I am finding it truly interesting how many people are plagued by the same doubts, the same questions and the same fears when it comes to photography. How do we convince ourselves of our own value?!

I am glad you are continuing with your photography. Obviously, it is something that speaks to you, something you feel the need to do, even if just for yourself. I checked out the workshop you are attending and it looks AMAZING! I am tempted. So very tempted. But I am at that point where I am not making any money, I am still on the fence about how to put my photography into practice and I am unsure about spending that amount of money. But trust me, you have planted a seed!

Please stay in touch! I would love to hear how things are going. (And you look just beautiful.)

Carol, I don't have your current email so I will keep this public-comment-worthy :). The kids ask about Harry & Ella. Just yesterday we were at Memory Grove and Kyle said, "Who were those kids we used to go here with?" Then he remembered. You guys are in so many of our old photos. Lots of pictures of Eli and Ella.

Hope you are not too shocked. You are a guidance counselor and I figure you know all about letting go and how life moves forward. We heal.

You look beautiful and hope MN is everything you want it to be. We are there often and I can picture right where you live. Have you been to Southdale? I am sure you have.

warmly, BDK&E

I used to read your blog often....my favorite saying to throw out every once in awhile is "oh! there's his peanuts!" Love that Ella girl. haha.
